In what must
be described as a stunning development today, United States Senator Jon Corzine
specifically requested to not be in the same election ballot column as the Jim
Carroll Atlantic County Democrats ...
This is no
longer just Harry Hurley saying that Jim Carroll is destroying the Atlantic
County Democratic Party ... For a sitting United States Senator and the certain
Democratic Nominee for Governor of New Jersey to choose to run off of the line,
as opposed to running in Column A with the "Regular" Atlantic County Democrats
is unprecedented ...
Atlantic
County Clerk Michael Garvin publicly confirmed that Senator Corzine specifically
requested to not be included in the same column with the Regular Atlantic County
Democratic slate ...
Further,
Garvin publicly confirmed that Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Jim Carroll
wanted Senator Corzine at the top of his ticket ... Senator Corzine instead has
formally chosen to run off of their line ...
Our best
sources say that Senator Corzine was very uncomfortable with the
horrible treatment that Carroll showed Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford
... Also, the peculiar number of Republicans running on the Atlantic County
Democratic slate ...
Langford's
slate secured Column B at today's drawing ... With Carroll's slate drawing
Column A ...
However, the
big news of today is that Senator Corzine purposefully chose to run off of
the Regular Democratic line and he will be in Column C ... basically right next
door to Langford on the ballot ... Corzine actually could have drawn Column E
... But Atlantic County Clerk Michael Garvin drew Corzine's name first, which
gave him Column C ...
This is a
major campaign development, which cannot be overstated
...
Interestingly,
Carroll nor any "Regular" Democrat attended today's drawing ... By comparison
Langford had a large and enthusiastic number of running mates and supporters in
attendance with him ...
Carroll's
shoddy treatment of Langford may cost the Regular Democrat slate dearly ... as
Democratic voters will start their voting by going to Column C and voting for
Corzine ... Then, having to return to other columns on the ballot to complete
their voting ... This advantages Langford greatly and his Freeholder and Council
running mates ...
Developing BIG
TIME!
EDITOR'S
NOTE: The conduct of Atlantic County Clerk Michael Garvin was beyond
reproach ... his integrity and the honest manner that he handled today's ballot
placement drawing was of the highest caliber ... I was there ... I
observed it up close ... there is no doubt that today's
drawing was fair and
square.
