Cooper Calls for Fiscally Disciplined Budget
(Northfield, NJ) – Atlantic County Freeholder Alisa Cooper issued the following statement today in anticipation of County Executive Dennis Levinson's budget presentation that will include the county government spending plan for 2007.
"It is critical that we change the spending habits of this government. Over the last several years, county spending has spun out of control, while our residents are being hit with an unconscionably high property tax burden.
I intend to continue to dedicate myself to providing relief to those taxpayers, and I ask my colleagues to join with me in a bi-partisan effort to produce the most fiscally responsible budget possible.
It is our obligation to practice spending discipline and do more with less, just like our families do each and every day."
